Birding at Brampton Update

This past June, we told you about a birding themed package we are working on: the work continues as we research the possibilities. One part of this package would of course include a bird/nature walk around the grounds of the Brampton Bed & Breakfast Inn itself. We have a guide who really knows his stuff (more on that to come later) who has already done a survey of the property once this summer, and will be back in October to do it again. This time, though, we can invite our guests along if there is any interest. So, if you plan to be here at our Chestertown inn on Saturday October 1, and you don’t mind walking for about 1.5 miles before breakfast, then you are welcome to join in! We’ll do in again in the spring on May 5, 2012, if you need more time to plan…

This is a list of all the species seen and/or heard during our survey walk back in June:

Mallard  4
Green Heron  1
Turkey Vulture  2
Killdeer  2
Mourning Dove  3
Yellow-billed Cuckoo  1

The Grasshopper Sparrow and the Blue Grosbeak were new birds for me (this is Rita speaking) and the whole walk was fascinating. I am so excited about this project; I know we have several guests who love birds as much as I do, so I hope this is a big success for everyone! PLEASE, do let me know either through comments here (or at what your level of interest is in a package of this sort. We would love to know your thoughts. Thank you!!!
