With all due respect to spontaneity (which is great), planning ahead also has its perks. An early phone call will normally get you that special cottage that’s “yours”, the romantic table in the window of your favorite restaurant, or an early discount on tickets for events.
About three months ago we suggested that you save the date of September 7 for the Chestertown Jazz Festival and Art in the Park. So now, if you like to plan ahead, here’s your perk:
A pair of tickets to the festival as our gift to you when you stay two nights over Jazz Fest Weekend!!
We are so excited about the resurgence of this festival and want to share it with our guests. (The Jazz Festival was a yearly event from 1996 to 2006 and has been sorely missed. 2012 was it’s “re-debut”) There are few of our Chestertown B&B rooms left and we are happy to offer a pair of tickets to those music lovers out there. Just think, you could be in this picture:
The concert is in Wilmer Park on the Chester River just 2 miles from the Brampton Inn. Once again, Jazz Fest has teamed up with Art in the Park, and there will be dozens of artists and artisans showing and selling their works. And of course food and drink will be for sale.
According to Mel Rapelyea, the man behind the Festival, the lineup includes headliner “Cyrus Chestnut, world famous pianist who is from the Baltimore area. We are featuring everybody’s local favorite, Sue Matthews. We have a saxophonist who also sings, Marsha Heydt; and the opening act will be a group who sprang from The National Mucial Fesival. Logan Seith is originally a classical perucssionist and has put together a fantastic jazz quartet. We will again open with ‘The 100 Voice Gospel Choir.’ ”
This is a truly awesome (and we try not to overuse that word!) opportunity to see and hear some world renowned musicians up close and personal. Pack a picnic, do some shopping, sit back and relax to the vibes…and enjoy!
We hope to see you at Jazz Festival 2013!!!
